Pandering to the “NASCAR is WWE” Crowd
Anyone that has spent time wandering through the many NASCAR blogs and forums have spotted them. They hold dearly to the belief NASCAR manipulates, pull strings via an extremely opaque rulebook and in various other ways “dictate” the outcome of its races. I can point to one that claims Hendricks Racing has an advantage because its owner is a convicted “felon” and “bribes” the France family for a desirable outcome.
The stance taken by most of these conspiracy theorists is NASCAR has become a rolling, 180mph WWE type racing organization. While I have little doubt there have been, shall we say, “convienent” yellows” thrown on occasion, to claim that HWSBO would risk a billion dollar industry over a possible scandal is like a 500lb gorrilla stepping on a 1/2 inch banana tree branch.
However, conspirators, and Brian France haters aside, there is a NASCAR wrestling connection to be made. FoxSports NASCAR analyist Jeff Hammond is stepping into the “squared circle.”
Hammond, 49, was a pro wrestling fan growing up in North Carolina and tried amateur boxing. But he says he found he’s “a street fighter, not a guy who can bob and weave.” So last year he wrestled twice on Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling

I can see it now. Drivers with grudges take their beefs into the ring during the off-season. Stewart vs. Bush; Newman vs. Wallace. Or better yet tag team events between teams! Hendrick’s Hangmen vs. Roush’s Raiders!
Geesh, I think I just made myself ill!!
I think that would be Roush’s Mongol Hoard, George.
My question to Hammond would be just what “relationships” would he be missing if he only “wrestled” once in the past?
Hendricks Racing has an advantage because its owner is a convicted
That commentor suggestion is way beyond “out there.”
Truth be told he/she/it would have been gone from this blog long ago for posting trash like that. The bribe allegation is one of the milder thoughts on this persons mind.
