Robby has had a major dust-up for the last three years that NASCAR has had to penalize him for. But this year at Montreal takes the cake. They should sit him for the Glen race as he usually does well at road courses; hit him where it really hurts.
So much talent, such poor judgement.
Agreed, but as said earlier a “sit down” this week does little without either suspending the team so owners points are lost, or they impose an additional penalty and kick 100 or so points off his drivers and owners points.
So there is no “gray” area, it’s OK to spin someone under the yellow? I must have missed Ambose’s punishment. The France family is so determined to distance themselves from what made this sport they will kill it yet when left with no checks. It is time for the drivers to set out a race together, but most of them don’t have a pair anymore. Doesn’t anyone remember what the fight between the Allisons and Yarbourgh did for the TV exposure. Robby Gordon provided this for the Canadians, NASCAR should be thinking him.
It’s a little early to make that determination Bill. Although I have doubts it will happen penalties are mostly handed out on Tuesday.
Ambrose may be issued one then.
As to this point: “The France family is so determined to distance themselves from what made this sport they will kill it yet when left with no checks.”
Distance from what? You’ve forgotten how many times Earnhardt Senior, the Allisons, and many others of twenty years ago did some of the same things Gordon et al have done recently.
Marc, I have not forgotten. The France family has… that’s my point. Maybe the demographic they are trying for wants to see a nice race with nice drivers and nice finishes, but I think they lose their base and they peak, it’s downhill from there.
Same ole, same ole, if I’ve read it once I’ve read it a thousand times. NASCAR’s dieing, NASCAR is dead but won’t lie down….yadda, YADDA, YADDA.
All because they believe the tripe that’s put out by Neilson and the TV ratings and allegedly attendance figure nosediving and all because of France and NASCAR “leaving it roots!”
TV ratings are down, or flat nearly across the board for sports and attendance figures have fallen for many of the “entertainment venues” not just NASCAR.
