Pickin Thru Wednesday’s NASCAR Trash
QUESTION: If using a bit of jet fuel during the Daytona 500 brings down the wrath of God upon Michael Waltrip what happens next Speedweeks when radioactive isotopes are found after the DEI team finishes first thru fourth in the 500.
Hey, don’t shoot the messenger, I’m just asking!
Petty Enterprises moves to Charlotte: The announcement precedes a large uptick in Southeastern USA visits to dental technicians as “traditionalists” and “old timers” grind their teeth to nubs over NASCAR “losing it roots.” (no pun intended) City officials of Level Cross, North Carolina vote to widen North Carolina Highway 268 to 10 outbound lanes to assist residents egress of the area as Surry County turns into a New Age Dust Bowl.
Wonder how the BAM Racing crew got those coil springs through the security screening at the Phoenix airport last week? When discovered they must have sent to pin-headed members of the TSA into conniption fits.
On a somewhat related “Tin-Top” note, congratulaions go to a number of drivers that compete in the Australian V8 SuperCar Series. Last week the series raced at Bahrain International Circuit, the only “Fly-away” event on their schedule.
After the event drivers Rick Kelly, Craig Lowndes, Jason Bright and Greg Murphy all boarded an Aussie C130 Hercules for the journey into Iraq to visit the Australian troops stationed in country.
A hearty Well Done to the drivers involved and series officials that made the trip happen. HELLO… PCNA, when will NASCAR do something similar?

I thought that was kind of nice of the V8 boys making the trip. Don’t quote me but I think the guys might have done a visit to East Timor to visit the frontline troops when that conflict was on.
I vaguely remember the same Peter.
Not to toss water on the deal, but it’s a much easier decision to make when in Bahrain and only a short hop by C-130 to Baghdad.
What kinda pissed me off in the story was the attitude of the Aussie reporters in Bahrain. They had all but muzzle them and toss them into the brig to keep them from breaking the story before the trip and compromising security.
Nice call on the Aussie trip Marc. Bahrain is a bit closer to Iraq than Homestead. Maybe the NASCAR guys will put together a trip after the banquet.
BTW. Why is there such a conection between ex-swabbies and NASCAR?
