Question: Why Did it Take so Long?
Auto racing has been a venue for many families to excel. NASCAR can thank the Petty family for ushering the sport from it’s earliest days to the present with son Kyle and there are many others.
But few have shown the dedication to their sport and excelled at it more than the Unser family out of Albuquerque, N.M. Together brothers Al and Bobby Unser won the Indy 500 7 times. Al’s 4 wins, among other accomplishments earned him entry into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.
This past Saturday, thirty-five years after the first of his four Indianapolis 500 victories, Al Unser cut the ribbon to open the Unser Racing Museum in Albuquerque, N.M.
