Quote of the Day - Bernie Ecclestone

“I hate democracy as a political system. It stops you getting things done. I think people should have decisions made for them. Torture is just an old-fashioned way of getting things done” - Bernie Ecclestone.

Bernie… just when will someone make a decision for you? The one that sends you off to your multi-million dollar chalet in the Swiss Alps to live out the rest of your miserable days far from a reporter or microphone. Not to mention the reigns of power in Formula One.

And while on the subject of “torture,” based on the article’s included image I have to agree with your local Swiss newspaper, you are “descended from an 18,000-year-old hobbit.”

  1. Now Marc, I tend to agree with Bernie: There are doers and those that tend to get in the way of doers. Sometimes a little water boarding helps one to gain their objectives, whether getting terrorists to confess or countries to pay exorbitant fees to host F1 events.

  2. But he’s still a Hobbit, no matter how much Luv you toss his way.

  3. To protect it from itself F1 needs a dictator, a benevolent one, and Bernie could not spell benevolence.

See if you can dig out what He said to Danica Patrick about women racers, he approved their presence but thought that their overalls should be all white

  4. Bernie needs some powerful anti-psychotic medication.
