Roush Fenway’s “17″ Gets the “Royal” Treatment
Crown Royal will serve as the primary sponsor for Matt Kenseth’s car at Roush Fenway Racing for 18 events beginning in 2010, the team announced on Tuesday.
Crown Royal has been the sponsor for Jamie McMurray, but with the driver unsigned for next season, and been given a free hand to look elsewhere for a ride, the sponsorship was moved to Kenseth’s car.
“We will miss Jamie as he has been an amazing partner both on and off the track taking our ‘Be a Champion. Drink Responsibly’ campaign to new heights,” said Dan Sanborn, the senior director for corporate relations that runs parent company Diageo.
“We were lucky to have him as a part of our team and whatever sponsor aligns with him will have a great person working on their behalf.”
Excuse me, I’m having a bit of a Flashback.
Ok, I’m better now.
This leaves McMurray with few options for 2010. There’s an open seat at EGR replacing Truex Jr., a possible and much rumored 3th car at Stewart Haas and a possible open seat at Michael Waltrip’s team.
There’s also the chance of moving McMurrary to Yates Racing but other than those options the pickin’s are very slim.

Good call. And hopefully it’ll be a happy marriage. But I still say the pairing of Matt and Crown is as a odd as that of Mears and Jack D.
Not so much good, just the most obvious given the Cat in the Hat has to cut down to 4 teams next year.
