Said, Said to be Forming New NASCAR Team
Road course veteran and sometime NEXTEL Cup “road course ringer” Boris Said has announced the formation of a new team to be headed by veteran crew chief Frank Stoddard. Stoddard moves over from the same postion at MB2 Motorsports.
The team are partnering with long-time Said associate, former driver and team owner Mark Simo, himself a road course specialist.
Roush Racing has offered to supply the team with cars, engines and technical expertise for approximately 5 events in 2006, (and no doubt any testing data they may obtain).
NOTE: Dear Brian France, doesn’t this partially refute one of your reasons for limiting NEXTEL Cup team size? Specificly, that multi-car teams hinders, if not prevents, new teams from entering NASCAR competition. And this is be one of many examples.

This is great news, if true. I really like Boris Said. A couple years back I saw a TV interview with him after he finished racing huge semi tractors. The interviewer commented that a highly talented road course expert probably wasn’t too excited about racing big, heavy trucks.
Said responded, and I paraphrase, “No, no. Anything with 2,000 horsepower is fun to drive.”
