Salute Kyle’s Mexican Win With a Cervaza!
Kyle Busch won his third consecutive race in the Nationwide Series, holding off Kangaroo Meat (also known as the Devil Racer) by less than a whisker in the Corona Mexico 200 at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
At this point it’s fair to say Busch is the hottest thing going in any of NASCAR’s three top tiered series’, bar none.
It would also be fair to salute his performance not only with the raising of a very cold and icy one, but with a new moniker as well.
Henceforth, the Half-Vast Staff™ of Full Throttle will refer to him as Kyle “Desperado” Busch.
Desperado: – noun, “a bold, reckless criminal or outlaw, esp. in the early days of the American West.”
Come on, you have to admit it fits.
Busch was born in Las Vegas, a place in the old West that served as a stopover for travelers headed to California. And he damn sure headed into Mexico, not the mention Phoenix, and an acted as if he were a desperado, excuse me… The Desperado (with apologies to El Mariachi - ed) stealing away the thunder and spotlight from the series regulars - for the third straight event.
But he wasn’t the only driver committing a bit of thievery Sunday. Scott Wimmer started 21st and “stole 14 spots to finish 7th. Brad Keselowski used his DEI supplied “6 gun” going from 28th to 8th shooting down all the contenders for the spot along the way.
Yet, even they couldn’t top the “criminal ways” of David Reutimann, the Waltrip Racing driver rode his Toyota hard and put it away wet moving up 21 spots to finish in 12th.
More later, when the quotes come out, and when I get this whole Desperado thing out of my head…
