NASCAR has fined crew chief Frank Kerr $100,000, suspended him for six races and put him on probation the rest of this season because of a technical violation during Daytona 500 week at Daytona International Speedway.
Owner/driver Robby Gordon’s #7 Dodge was caught with an unapproved front bumper cover as it was presented for pre-qualifying inspection. In addition to the crew chief penalties, Gordon was been docked 100 owner and 100 driver points.

Speaking of “court judgments,” Kentucky Speedway now has until April 7 to file a brief in its appeal of a federal judge




Personally, I thought Kentucky Speedway had a case worth taking to trial. Of course, even a good case can get thrown out depending on which federal judge is assigned to the case. And that’s why they have circuit courts of appeal.

I’ve followed this case from it’s inception, including the first filing.
At that time I read and quoted here at FT, the lawyer that handled the Texas case for TMS. He was asked by KMS owners to join as a rep, he declined and basically thought their suit had far less chance than the Texas suit.
In short he told them it was a lost cause 18 months ago and to pack sand.
