Some Things are Better off Left Unsaid

Or left unwritten, not hinted at or whispered after a drunken weekend in Vegas.

Such is the case with this wild assed rumor. According to Si.com and posted to their Truth & Rumors section, but originating with the Autoextremist site (That should tell you something), Michael Schumacher has signed a $10 million dollar NASCAR contract.

The rumor claims Schumi will compete at the scheduled road races at Sears Point (Infineon) and Watkins Glen in 2007 “could not be substantiated”.

No kidding! I’ll believe this one about the same time I believe this is NASCAR’s next generation Busch Series car, and they don’t make Plymouths any longer. (On second thought, maybe….)

I would lay odds Schumi would be whale watching, playing the lead in an autobiographical film, or playing a bit of “Footy” than riding heard over a tin-top in the future.

As rumors go this one is about as outlandish as it gets. As for the “next-gen” Busch Series car I’ll let you be the judge.

  1. Every year now we will get a ‘Schui to return” rumour.

I will bet that in late 2007 we will hear:-

A consortium of Saudi investors wish to enter F1 with Schui as the team principal & lead driver, ala Jack Brabham, type of senario.Worse Willi Weber neither confirming or deny it will only fuel the fire.

Hold me to that one marc…………………..OH WHAT THE HELL, lets just start it now! :-)

  2. Consider the rumor stated Peter.

Although to make it real “juicy” we should throw in the team will be sponsored and powered by Hyundai.

  3. just think how cool a pack of those would look!

  4. You’re probably right Gary, but unfortunately seeing a field of 43 Plymouth concept cars from the fifties may not be in the cards for NASCAR’s future.

However as crazy as Brian France is I wouldn’t totally rule out the possibility.
