Speaking of Tires…
… and other issues.
The Cup and Busch Series guys should feel very lucky to have the rubber they have. I mean, it could be much, much worse than a little low pressure or cord peekin’ through. They could go without and be forced to switch brands mid-season.
NASCAR Super Truck drivers were forced to switch from Goodyear to Hoosier tires for Saturday night’s race at Irwindale Speedway in California, and not many of the drivers were happy about it.Goodyear is having trouble supplying Irwindale Speedway drivers with tires for racing. Speculation was that when NASCAR Nextel Cup Series teams complained about the Goodyear tires they were using and Goodyear started making replacements, it affected the production of tires for the lower divisions of NASCAR.
Them damn greedy Cuppers and Busch hooligans. Who do they think they are? Most drivers at Irwindale said they did not like the Hoosiers. For one, they are more slick than the Goodyears. One driver described the Hoosiers as “skaty.”
Need tips on preparing a successful tailgate party at Watkins Glen this weekend? Jeff Gordon has just the thing for ya. “Our fans are some of the best in the world, and their tailgate setups are unbelievable they have it down to a science,” says Jeff. Funny he didn’t mention the “tailgaters” that were tossing their empties at the #24 a few weeks ago.
Be afraid… very afraid. Nanotechnology is coming to Charlotte and NASCAR. (There is absolutely no truth in the rumor Jim Hunter will be shrunk in size in an effort avoid the “Eviiiill Reporters” questions at press conferences.)
Ever hear of Dundee’s Black Rock Speedway? I haven’t either but they do have a star studded show on for Friday night’s modified show. Tony Stewart will be one of the major contenders in the race, having competed on the Yates County (NY) oval in a modified five years ago. Former World of Outlaws champion Dave Blaney makes his modified return, while former USAC and dirt star Jason Leffler is also part of the mix. Carl Edwards, David Stremme, Clint Bowyer, Scott Wimmer, Jeff Green and Tim Fedewa complete the NASCAR field.
I have to ask… if you shell out $35 hard earned bucks for a Jeff Gordon T-shirt, why in frickin’ hell would you “wear it with a turtleneck in winter.” Come to think of it, why would anyone wear a turtleneck, anytime.
