Stop the “Earth” Ward Wants to Get Back On!
The “Earth” in question would be NASCAR’s version of the earth. A place that isn’t always in sync with the more commonly known terrestrial version we all live on. Ward, is Ward Burton brother of current Chase points leader Jeff Burton. Ward was last seen driving a Cup car in anger at Phoenix International Raceway for Gene Haas in the NetZero Chevy
According to reports (Rotowire and The Sporting news) Ward has accepted a ride in the #4 Morgan McClure Racing Chevy at Martinsville next week. It appears to be a one-shot deal in an effort to showcase the talents that have been forced to the sideline for two years.
At least his fans would hope it’s a showcase and not a prelude to a full-time ride. The Morgan McClure team hasn’t exactly burned up the track in recent years and Ward’s driving skill may be wasted in the #4 Chevy.
With luck this may be an audition for Team Red Bull a team, despite being new, has very deep pockets and more potential than Morgan McClure.
And BTW, I think Clint has a date with his cat at the barber. Wonder if he needs a reminder?

Unfortunately the NASCAR earth seems to be of the flat variety. Here’s hoping Ward doesn’t drive over the edge.
