It could be, but I highly doubt Ryan Briscoe could be classified as a clown or Marco Andretti a joker. Not when those two and Danica Patrick roll off from the third row for the 91st edition of the Indianapolis 500.
Brisco is a enigma, he proved everything in Euro junior series, FRenault, F3 & then was a highly capable tester for Toyota F1.
Then he joined Chip’s team on the ovals & proceeded to demolish chassis like there was no tomorrow. I know the Toyota engine was not as competitive as the Honda, & both he & Dixon had to push, but his rookie season on ovals was a disaster.
Who knows maybe now he has settled don a bit. I wonder if the suits at Toyota regret paying a kings ransom to Ralfie - of the famous surname but not the same speed - to drive for them instead of Briscoe. IMHO, he could not have done worse than Ralf & came at a fraction of the price.
Brisco didn’t show much in his short stint with A1GP either.
