Admit it, you’ve seen all the doom and gloom headlines that proclaim “NASCAR Dead, Attendance low, TV Ratings Drop to New Low!” They have become part and parcel of the sports reportage for the last 18 months or longer.

As I’m having more than a few computer issues related to either my monitor or video card at the moment, I vote for and will probably pay out of the butt for the later, here are a few short notes on what’s crossed the FT desk recently.

Can you drive really fast around tight corners? Four times each lap? Do you burst a cranial blood vessel, lose your temper and burst into tears when other drivers cut-down on you? If you answered yes to any, or all of the above, NASCAR might want to hear from you.

Mauricia Grant who has accused NASCAR of racial discrimination and sexual harassment in a $225 million lawsuit had a restraining order filed against her by a former boyfriend and was arrested for driving under the influence, the Associated Press has learned.
