Andrew Ranger clinched the 2009 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series on Sunday as soon as the green flag flew at the Z-Line Designs 250 in Fraserville, Ont.

In front of a capacity crowd, Don Thomson Jr. captured the checkered flag Saturday night at Barrie Speedway, his fifth career win and first of the season in NASCAR Canadian Tire Series action. Thomson led for 106 of 300 laps and eventually re-claimed his lead on lap 18 and held off Mark Dilley for the win.
