Frankly I am getting on the far side of my teenage years, way far, but usually the DNA based memory-chip works fine. For some strange reason I’ve totally distracted by off-track events at Indianapolis this past weekend.

The biggest news coming out of the first day of NASCAR’s annual Dog & Pony show is a solution to the “name game” played after the recent merger between Petty Enterprises and Ganassi Racing.

Penske Racing today announced the establishment of a multi-year agreement for its NASCAR Sprint Cup Series program with the Automobile Club of Southern California (AAA) and its affiliated clubs.

The genesis of this post was the rumor that NASCAR was considering cutting the field sizes for its top three series’.

Jimmie Johnson earned the victory in Kansas City Sunday, even though Carl Edwards made a final attempt to overtake the new Chase for the Cup point leader. Edwards went underneath Johnson and appeared to have the lead but the speed he was carrying and the air turbulence threw his Ford high to the outside wall.

Dixon staked his claim to the first Indycar/Champ Car combined series championship as Helio Castroneves claimed a photo-finish victory at Chicagoland Speedway.
