Frankly I am getting on the far side of my teenage years, way far, but usually the DNA based memory-chip works fine. For some strange reason I’ve totally distracted by off-track events at Indianapolis this past weekend.
The biggest news coming out of the first day of NASCAR’s annual Dog & Pony show is a solution to the “name game” played after the recent merger between Petty Enterprises and Ganassi Racing.
Penske Racing today announced the establishment of a multi-year agreement for its NASCAR Sprint Cup Series program with the Automobile Club of Southern California (AAA) and its affiliated clubs.
The genesis of this post was the rumor that NASCAR was considering cutting the field sizes for its top three series’.
I was further spurred on by the Orlando Sentinel’s Tania Ganguli. She cited an SI story where Chip Ganassi thinks “by 2010 eight cars will leave NASCAR and not be replaced.” That story is dated [...]
The 2008 ARCA Re/Max title will be decided in next weekend’s season-ender at Toledo Speedway after leader Scott Speed and second-ranked Ricky Stenhouse finished poorly in Friday’s 250-miler at Talladega (Ala.) Speedway.
Allgaier, with no drafting help, drove to the outside of Joey Logano down the backstretch on the last lap, bounced off the former [...]
Jimmie Johnson earned the victory in Kansas City Sunday, even though Carl Edwards made a final attempt to overtake the new Chase for the Cup point leader. Edwards went underneath Johnson and appeared to have the lead but the speed he was carrying and the air turbulence threw his Ford high to the outside wall.
Dixon staked his claim to the first Indycar/Champ Car combined series championship as Helio Castroneves claimed a photo-finish victory at Chicagoland Speedway.
Scott Dixon placed second, just centimeters away while Castroneves’ teammate Ryan Briscoe finished third to complete an impressive inaugural season for the highly-regarded Penske Racing team.
It was the closest finish in Indy racing history, [...]
Team Penske’s preparations for this weekend’s IndyCar Series round at Infineon Raceway has been hit by a truck fire en route to California.
Having earlier this week expressed its confidence at chasing a solid result at Infineon Raceway, Team Penske will have to overcome a major setback to keep Helio Castroneves and Ryan Briscoe on track.
Traveling [...]
Sam Hornish Jr’s Sprint Cup crew chief Chris Carrier has been shown the garage door of Penske Racing South.
He’s being replaced by Travis Geisler who’s previously been the race engineer for Ryan Newman’s #12 Dodge.
This is kind of a strange move in one sense (unless it’s somehow linked to Newman leaving Penske) Hornish is the [...]
Daytona 500 winner Ryan Newman will not drive for Roger Penske’s NASCAR team after this season concludes.
The South Bend, Ind., native and team officials said today via a written statement that they have “mutually agreed” to move in different directions after nine years together.
Newman, who has won 13 races in the No. 12 Alltel Dodge [...]
Well, its come to this, a reality show winner is considering walking the walk (crab-walk or otherwise) and talking the talk by possibly shifting allegiances from IndyCar to NASCAR.
Two-time Indy 500 winner, Dancing with the Stars winner and Team Penske driver Helio Castroneves is open to the possibilities of Tin-Top racing.
“I won’t deny that I’m [...]
“Garçon, what is the soup de jure?”
“Well sir, the special this week as pictured on the menu at left, is the specialty of NASCAR Nation, at least temporarily, is Crab-Walk Soup de Jure.”
The master chef’s of NASCAR Nation, more often called the categories elite engineers, are fast coming to grips with the new car of [...]
