If a team pops a motor or tranny they make the change and start at the rear. I's hard for me to imagine NASCAR not allowing the same for those that are changing something related to "special qual" configurations.

Unless.... that's NASCAR's way of saying "you did bad by screwing up our rules package, now suffer."</description>

		<description>Couldn't the three teams simply make "unapproved changes" after qualifying to put the car in race trim and start 43rd? It would open a huge Pandora's box from NASCAR's view, but from a fledging team's perspective it's not a bad trade off.</description>
