Teaching an Old NASCAR Dog New Tricks
Hmmm… sumptin tells me NASCAR Suits went to school over their recent flubberroo when the TV network missed the green flag and first half lap of an event because of a very late running, rain delayed edition of “America’s Pastime.”
The Suits have sent out a press release announcing a revised TV schedule because of conflicts with 3 NBA (NB what?) Playoff games also broadcast Friday evening.
- The live telecast of the race in its originally scheduled time slot (7–10:00 p.m. ET) will air simultaneously on both SPEED and ESPN Classic.
- ESPN2 will join the race live immediately following the Cavaliers – Wizards game and will also re-air the race in its entirety immediately following the conclusion of the race broadcast.
- Both NASCAR.com and ESPN.com will stream the race live.
- ESPN and SPEED will begin on-air promotion today (Thursday, May 1).
- SPEED’s live coverage from Richmond begins at 1:00 p.m. ET with NASCAR LIVE and will continue straight through the live broadcast of the race until 10:00 p.m. ET.
See, you can teach an old NASCAR dogs new tricks.
Now, can we talk about green flags after cautions that go unseen due to an ad for “that not so fresh feeling?”
Probably not I’m guessing.
While here, the Half-Vast Staff™ of Full Throttle would like to take the time to wish a very happy May Day to the People’s Commissar of NASCAR Affairs Brian France. Commissar, счастливых людей праздника Первого мая!
(But could you turn down the music, the highest notes of the Leningrad March are drilling a hole in our brains!)
