Well I voted for you but I was very confused about your fellow nominees, some of them were not sport or even motorsport blogs.

Anyway you don’t need their stupid award, it is clearly “fishy”.

It all depends on whether or not Kevin Aylward wants to run a legitimate contest. This year’s wasn’t legitimate. Don’t know about preceding years.

Maybe if I sent him one of these he’d get the hint.

Sephyroth - Thanks for whatever support you tossed my way.

In many ways Kevin’s awards are the best, the only one close would be the yearly Bloggies, but until recently (last year) the vast majority of the nominees and consequentially the winners where of a “Liberal” political persuasion. Come to think of it last year was the first the Bloggies even had a sports category. That was corrected, but again the winners where dominated by those with “Big Media” connections.

Charlie - Come on guy you don’t do yourself and Bench Racing justice!

FT is sitting out here in the cold (hey 75 IS COLD in the P.I) while you guys are on radio and scam all the great interviews.

All I get to scam is my own mental capacity, lacking as that may be, and a few commenters that happen to drive by.

Mark I commend you for putting yourself out there. It looks to be a fixed game - as many of the blogging for bloggers stuff seems to be. You have a great site. It is the first racing site that really “stood out” to me and is still one whose quality is what the Bench Racing blog strives to rival. We ain’t even close, but it’s fun trying.

For what it’s worth, the couple of times I voted in the sports category, I voted for Every Day Should Be Saturday. Also, the one time that I did vote in your category I did vote for your site
However, I think you’re right - the voting is dominated by corporate blogs - All Men Are Liars (from the AU/NZ category, where incidentally, I voted for Dipping into the Blogpond, Meg’s a good sort :)) is a wholly-owned site by Fairfax Media; of course Deadspin, along with Lifehacker and probably a couple of other sites are owned by Gawker (which was put up for best blog overall).

The other thing is that you’d think that this would be the best competition, but I think you’re right - it’s probably not worth bothering with anymore…
