The Men Behind the NASCAR Men

Ok members of NASCAR Nation it’s pop quiz time.

Dedicated fans know a lot about their favored driver and or team, some of that knowledge may include drivers ahem… “social contacts” outside the track (read, main squeeze) or the name of a drivers spotter on race day.

But… can some, or any of you name a drivers substitute that may be used in case of injury or more likely when a driver needs someone to qual a car while he’s off racing somewhere else.

Specifically, can anyone name the drivers that have been designated as substitutes for this weekends Nationwide event in Nashville?

In a cheap ploy to build suspense the list of substitute drivers can be found below the fold.

In a North American exclusive the Half-Vast™ Staff of Full Throttle provides Marcos Ambrose fans this sneak peek (see pages 8-9) of the livery his #59 Ford Fusion will be wrapped in at Nashville.

Old-time King Richard/STP fans are warned to look away as the sight may lead to unknown medical complications that the Staff are SO not totally responsible for, so don’t even try it.

We have lawyers to, cheap ones, that wear seersucker suits and drink generic gin!

Nashville Nationwide substitute drivers:

Stephen Leicht for Clint Bowyer. Leicht won his first career series race last year at Kentucky and finished seventh in the final standings.

Jason Hedelsky for Carl Edwards. Hedelsky normally serves as Edwards’ spotter.
Josh Wise for David Reutimann (No. 99 Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota). Wise is a developmental driver for Michael Waltrip Racing and has three series starts for Fitz Motorsports, two this year.

Auggie Vidovich for David Ragan (No. 6 Discount Tire Ford). Vidovich ran in 21 series races in 2006; his second series start came in this race where he started 15th.

Chad Blount for Jason Leffler. Leffler will attempt to qualify at Pocono; his last NASCAR Sprint Cup race was in 2005 at Indianapolis.

Casey Atwood a Nashville native will substitute for Greg Biffle.

Willie Allen, who drives for fellow Nashville native Bobby Hamilton Jr.’s Sadler-Hamilton Racing team, will serve as the substitute driver for Kyle Busch at Nashville.
