The Ups & Downs of NASCAR
First the Ups:
Dario Franchitti: The 2007 IndyCar champion has acquitted himself very well during his introduction to the world of “door slammin’” (hey they slammed at one time), fender bangin’ stock cars.
Early this month he made his tin top debut in the ARCA RE/MAX Series at Talladega. he started shotgun on the field due to an oil contamination problem that sent him to the rear, he kept his nose clean and finished a very respectable 17th
His first NASCAR start was in the NCTS race at Martinsville Speedway. He would finish 33rd after being plagued by rear end problems during the race.
Now reports say his stock (no pun intended) is continuing to rise, Franchitti will make his NASCAR Busch Series debut at Memphis Motorsports Park this weekend at the wheel of the #42 Ganassi Dodge in the Sam’s Town 250. Oddly enough he makes his Busch debut at the same venue as the subject of the next driver that is climbing up the ladder, Juan Montoya.

Didn’t Montoya finish better than 8th in other many races like Atlanta and Indianapolis?
Yep, you’re right F.Nygard, that’s what I get for not checking the sourced article for this post.
Montoya had a fifth at Atlanta and second at Indy according to Racing Reference.
