TNT’s NASCAR Coverage.
I first noted at Tina Renee’s place this Dustin Long post about TNT announcing it would copy ESPN’s policy of running ads simultaneously with their race broadcast.
At the time other than leaving a smart-alec note to Tina Renee I didn’t think too much about it. Not that I don’t applaud their effort, I just expected someone to try it sooner or later.
Although it will only happen during one broadcast, when HWSBO’s Circus returns to Daytona in July, it should be a welcome addition, or I should say, subtraction from TNT’s race coverage.
Several hours later I ran across the press release announcing the change, Kyle Petty’s plans to join the TNT broadcast booth mid-season and another more intriguing innovation than race coverage that is commercial break free.
When NASCAR rolls into Northern Cali in June for the Sonoma road course event Petty will call the race from behind the wheel:
