Trivia: What the Hell is it Edition
If any of you trivia masters can figure out what the hell this is in anything less than 5 attempts I’d be amazed!
And don’t go beggin’ for clues either.
All you get is the vintage, 1955, and confirmation it is in fact a race car that actually saw action on a real race track. (real as in REAL, like one of the most renown and classic tracks in the world) And it’s red, but you knew that.
Have at it and have fun.
UPDATE: Ding, Ding…. Ding, we have a winnah!
Congrats Bob it is in fact a 1955 Bisiluro designed by Carlo Mollino and raced but failed to finish the ‘55 24 hours of Le Mans. Here is an amazing image collection of the car.
(NOTE: Not sure why but for the last 12 hours or so I have not been able to view my index page or individual pages although from the comments coming in it appears to be isolated to myself.
Probably some kinda bad karma thing, I did shave a puppy and dump it in the freezer and then there was this bag of kittens which I won’t go into. Whatever it is I’m working on it.

Thought I had you for sure… I thought ah -ha! It’s either a DKW or Berkeley S- E492 3 cyl or B105 but I was wrong.
Are you sure it’s red?
Clance’ you have 4 more guesses before my “5″ prediction goes by the wayside. And yes I’m sure it’s red, in fact its color is a small, although, very small clue. (think national heritage, and don’t waste a guess on Ferrari)
That looks like it is a Nardi 750LM.
NASCAR COND - Car of Next Decade?
Well going with your red colour hint on nationality…..a Massarati? Lancia? Alfa? I admit I’m lost, nice little streamlining bodywork though.
Sorry, that’s my best guess without doing a 1955 Wiki search.
Corvette, at Lemans.
Opps did I say Corvette? I meant to say it is a Bisiluro that raced at LeMans in 1955. If I’m not mistaken, that one you have pictured there is the only one in existance right now.
And that would be less than 5 Marc.
I still think my answer was correct (and on the first try). At http://www.formula2.net/1955.htm they have it listed in the results as:
Nardi 750 LM - Crosley
Nardi Bisilero - Giannini ?
