Vettel Plays Matador to a Red Bull in Shanghai

Vettel Plays Matador to a Red Bull in Shanghai

A Red Bull rout in the rain - finally all that money invested comes good as Red Bull score a 1-2.

The speed of Vettel and Webber in the wet was pretty impressive - Newey watching the race back home must be rather pleased!

Buemi in the Toro Rosso was impressive despite a realtively harmless bump into the back of Vettel early in the race - looks like a strong recruit

A promising race from Sutil who nearly scored points for Force India - almost reminiscent of his great drive in Monaco last year before Kimi punted him out - this time his spectacular exit was due to his aquaplaning into the barriers with five laps to go and denying Force India its first ever points.

And finally, is it time for Piquet to go?

Provisional Results:

1 - Vettel
2 - Webber
3 - Button
4 - Barrichello
5 - Kovalainen
6 - Hamilton
7 - Glock
8 - Buemi

  1. Time for Piquet to go? And have that whining titty-baby Flava-Flav admit HE made ANOTHER mistake? Give him time, he’ll be better than his daddy any decade now.

And Peter, this is just for you and you’re Red Bull crowing about to swamp us all :):):):):)

You may make a believer of me yet as far RB is concerned. YOUR genius is now beyond question!

  2. George, PLEASE, don’t over inflate his ego more than it is/will be.

That said, you have to give props to RB. They smoked the field with no KERS or Diffuser.

  3. No need to crow when you have a loyal fan club the heralds your genius.

Considering the bucks that Matershitz has trown at F1 (AND the junior formulas) this is a well deserved result. Now if only Toyota could get a return on their investment.

Did you notice Adrian Newey was back at the factory & not at the race? Methinks a new diffuser is on the way for the next race.

  4. Just where would that fan club be Peter?

I have a reasonable idea, but can’t confirm it.

  5. If you two continue to mock my wisdom I will simply stop posting at FT & FM…….I might even start my own racing blog.

Nah! Too much effort, I will continue to enlightened the less informed at this site & that one in Connecticut. :-)

  6. Relative to RB this weekend in China the Speed crew mentioned that Brawn’s lack of pace may have been due to the 3D compromised by the rain, and not working as effectively.

Bahrain will give us a better side by side dry comparo. It doesn’t rain there, does it???

  7. George, it not only rains, but Ive’ been there when hail stones the size of baseballs ruin more than a few of the Roll Royces.

  8. “Bahrain will give us a better side by side dry comparo. It doesn’t rain there, does it???”

That was the assumption at neighbouring Qatar for the first round of the MotoGP………the race was was out & delayed until the Monday.
