Was Hamlin’s Busch Victory Boring?
For my money Hamlin’s fourth Busch win of the year was what it was, a driver and car that was dialed in and ran away.
That’s racing, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t, but sorry it’s not boring.
What’s boring is watching cars circle under yellow for something a decade ago wouldn’t have created anything but a skipped heartbeat of the driver involved. With only three yellows Saturday and a dialed in car Hamlin does what’s expected, dusts the field.
There is one other boring thing that will manifest itself around the blogosphere and forums today. The hue and cry about the race being dull and uninteresting. But a significant portion of those whining are also on record saying NASCAR throws too many yellows to manufacture close finishes.
Sorry again, you can’t have it both ways you either accept the yellows or accept the fact without them a team will be so strong on occasion they smoke the field.
And honestly it could be worse, I suspect many fans today aren’t aware of the days of 3-4 lap gaps to second place. Hell The King won a race with a seven lap margin.
So it can be much worse, be happy with what you have.
