Well Golly-Gee, What a Shocker!

Roll tape:

1. Mother Teresa has to be taken to court for Dale Jr. to obtain the rights for the commercial use of his own name.

2. Mother Teresa fails to obtain a seven post shaker until after her meal ticket flees for Hendrick Motorsports. And then is in possession of one via default, a merger with Ginn Racing who had one that also brought a larger facility to work out of, turning GarageMahall into the predicted (by Smoke) “museum.”

3. Mother Teresa fails to establish a dedicated testing team until after Dale Jr. splits the blankets.

4. As a “bargaining chip” Mother Teresa is quoted as saying: “Right now the ball’s in his court to decide on whether he wants to be a NASCAR driver or whether he wants to be a public personality,” forgetting she has pimped his “personality” from Mooresville to the furthest edges of the known universe.

And more… this is not to be construed as an all inclusive list just some “highlights” as I see them.

Given all the above color me not surprised Dale Jr. and Sis Kelley Earnhardt Elledge have been rebuffed in their efforts to utilize the #8 on his Hendrick Motorsports ride in 2008.

  1. Pardon me if I drool and snore as I snooze through this much-ado-about-nothing episode. Joonyour fans act as if #8 is somehow an entitlement for him conveniently forgetting that number was around loonnnngggg before he came on the scene. Anyone remember the Stavola Brothers and their revolving door series of drivers? Or Joe Weatherly in all those great runs for Bud Moore back in the 60s? Last I checked, Rick Hendrick owns the team and has a # with a good bit of tradition in its own right - the #5. That’s right, the first # he ever used with Geoff Bodine back in the day. I’d think Joonyour ought to jump on that like a chicken on a junebug (pun intended) to marry the past/present/future of HMS and Dale Jr. Anyway, back to my nap. Wake me when its over. Zzzzzzzzz…….

  2. Yeah I had to wake up just to post this “news.”

One good thing about it is by the looks of it this may be the end of this non-story.

Funny you mention Joe. I had a post awhile back on the “numbers game” DEI is playing and used Weatherly as the REAL owner of the legacy of the #8.

  3. Marc, I can’t find your email address either, so here is mine rantingandraving_4ever3@hotmail.com

    Thanks, and take car.
