What Do You Get When Crossing a Fledgling F1 Team and a Dead One?
Question: What do you get when you cross a fledgling Formula One team with a dead Formula One team?
Answer, according to a Reuters story, is a mixture of Stefan GP and the remnents of Toyota F1.
Stefan GP announced on Friday that they had agreed a technical assistance deal with Toyota.
“Stefan GP has already made its wishes clear to compete in Formula One,” the would-be team, who have yet to secure a place on the starting grid, said in a statement.
“Stefan GP has just come to a basic agreement with Toyota Motorsport GmbH that Stefan GP will receive technical supports from TMG.”
One source told Reuters said part of Stefan GP’s agreement with the car giant would be for Toyota-backed Japanese driver Kazuki Nakajima, dropped by Williams last year, to take one of the race seats.

They have bought the rights to the 2010 Toyota & plan to build it. If one of the new teams falls over they could go for that spot.
However all this would depend on the FIA…….& an engine. If they build the car, what lump goes in the back? A Cosworth?
All very strange, but they are determined, I credit them with that.
And they (StefsnGP) have stated even if they don’t make the grid this year, they will continue to test in the expectation of making the grid in 2011. I hope they read the proposed regs for 2011; no more double diffusers.
Peter, agreed with you as they state the plan.
But also point to George’s response. There’s no way in hell they make the grid this year even if a spot opens.
This nothing more than a maneuver for 2011.
BTW, George, did you see “a1gp Tony” took another hit after the A1GP Team USA suit? Check that “ambition” post.
I didn’t state Stefan wouldn’t make the grid this year, I was adding to Peter’s comment that even if they did not make the grid this year they have larger ambitions including 2011. If Campos or USF1 fail to make the grid I would not be shocked if Stefan is given a default entry.
Marc, I did read the updates on “Ambition”. Regarding Tony T. what is the point of winning judgments against an entity with no assets? Snakes like this have the means to reinvent themselves and leave prior investors/believers holding their butts waiting to collect the uncollectable.
Ok, well I was….. humm what’s the word…wrong.
But still think even if a spot opens for 2010 they won’t fill it not this year.
