What’s Good About NASCAR?
Despite what you read in the press, who apparently take their cue from the many forums and a few blogs infested with haters and deniers, there are many things good about NASCAR.
Aside from the close competition and the amount of corporations, race teams and talented drivers that want to be part of the sport is this, what’s good about NASCAR is what’s missing from this list:
2007′S VILLIANS: A look at the bad guys, and girls, in sports in 2007.
In what the Detroit Free Press calls the the “worst, sleaziest year ever in sports” not a single entry is dedicated to NASCAR. For that matter there’s no listing for motorsports in general.
That’s not to say motorsports was immune from some of the shenanigans but in comparison motorsports is no match for what went on elsewhere in the sports world, or beyond in the Land of Celebrity.
So be thankful on this New Years Day, those in the motorsports world never read Mark Twain’s Book for Bad Boys and Girls outlining the joys of misbehavior.

The fact that incidents like Kahne’s shove and Kyle Busch saying “suck” are big to-do’s in NASCAR circles shows how clean the sport is. They wouldn’t register in the NBA, NFL or MLB.
