Where There’s Smoke… There’s Smoke
Come with me and jump into the Full Throttle WayBack Machine a second, or two. We’re traveling back to July and the Pocono event on the NEXTEL Cup schedule.
That event featured a three car maelstrom that included Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards. By most accounts Stewart instigated the get together but at this point it’s immaterial. What’s important is where’s there’s smoke, there’s fire and more than a little Smoke.
Smoke fired up the rhetoric and dredged up the Pocono event on his weekly Sirius satellite radio talk show Tuesday. What happened in the old year still remains a valid topic in the new year and he not only issued a warning in the direction of Edwards but has put his money where his mouth is.
“I promise you this and I promise the race fans this: The next time that I hear Carl Edwards tell me that he’s going to make me bleed he better be ready to do it right then and there. Straight up,” Stewart said. “I don’t care what the fine is from NASCAR. I’ve got $50,000 saved.“I really don’t have that big of a problem with Carl in all reality,” he continued. “I told Carl when we talked the last time, I said, ‘Listen, I’m going to race you how I race anybody else. I’m gonna race you with respect, but be careful what you say.’ “
Quick… somebody get Smoke entered into a race somewhere, anywhere, and pull the microphone away from his lips!
Can you tell some people have nothing better to do than drag out six month old dead issues?
Well it was dead.
