Who Said NASCAR Doesn’t Have Clout?

The NASCAR “suits” obviously are running without restrictor plates when racing thru theUS Senatein search of extra cash:

More than 900 auto racetracks would get $92 million in Senate tax breaks denied sports arenas, amusement parks and comparable venues. The provision would let NASCAR and other owners write off the cost of their facilities faster, producing bigger annual tax deductions. The reason? NASCAR’s lobbying clout.

    The boys at Toyota are obviously around the bend. Who (with other choices, like Mark Webber) in their right mind would partner an ego maniac like Ralf? The co-driver will either be DaMatta, Panis, or some other second rate pilot eager for a ride. Not to mention will Ralf be competitive after his near meeting with The Higher Authority? Personally I don’t think so, but it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve been wrong, on a host of issues.
