Will Danica-mania Invade Daytona?

Indianapolis 500 fourth place finisher and IndyCar Series Rookie of the Year, Danica Patrick has been invited by Rusty Wallace to co-drive his #2 Pontiac Crawford in the January 28-29 Rolex 24 At Daytona.

Lead driver for the team is sports car veteran Allen McNish along with Boris Said, Wallace, who will be making his first ever sports car start and Patrick.

Patrick has never competed at Daytona, however she has had experience with the “sporty set” having previously driven a Ferrari Maranello F-550 at Road Atlanta, and also a PTG BMW.

    It’s possible George, but I doubt it. Wallace, although certainly still has close ties to Penske, did sell his financial stake in the NASCAR part of the operation.

    And I’ve read a few quotes from her complaining about the length of the NASCAR season and being glad she was in IRL.
