Will it Be “Sam’s or Wal-Mart?”
Hmmm…, what to do? Oh what to do….?
I know, let’s ask Joe Ruttman. “Joe, at your ripe old age of 62 what do ya wanna do, be a greeter at Sam’s or Wal-Mart?”
“Hell no,” Joe says, “I’m gonna do me some truck racin’!”
In other “resurrection news,” Eddie Van Halen will serve as an honorary NASCAR official this weekend in what will be the guitarist`s first post-rehab appearance.
Van Halen will participate Friday in pre-race activities at the Subway Fresh Fit 500 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series event at the Phoenix International Raceway, unveiling a limited edition Fender Stratocaster guitar series.
Will someone get mad if I ask WHY! Or better yet who CARES!

No I wont get mad, but it could be worse it could be David Lee Roth.
Somehow, after all these years, I’m not really interested whether Eddie is in or out of rehab. He’s had a extremely fortunate life, if he wants to mess himself up it’s not my concern.Sound cruel? sorry.
For the life of me I fail to understand some of the things NASCAR choses to associate themselves with.
Although to be fair the Eddie Van Halen decision may rest in the hands of the speedway and not the sanctioning body.
Their pimping the the Talladega nights flic is the classic example of how tone deaf they are. The movie perpetuated every possible redneck/xenophobic stereotype possible but NASCAR was all over it.
Meanwhile one of the best racing/KIDS movies ever, Cars, was ignored.
I don’t get it.
What a place for Eddie to set himself up for a slip.
