Will Katherine Get a “Legge” up on Danica-Mania?
Dan Clarke spent the 2005 season competing in the British F3 International Series capturing one win and seven podiums during the year for Raikkonen Robertson Racing.
In an interview given to Crash Net he announced his intentions to move Stateside and compete in the Champ Car World Series for 2006. While a deal isn’t in place as yet he is expected to sign with the Mi-Jack Conquest team who whom he tested for before Christmas.
During the interview he may have given a tipoff who one of his potential rivals for Rookie fo the Year would be and fueled the continuing speculation Katherine Legge would make the jump to the CCWS.
“I’ve also heard that my old karting rival Katherine Legge will be taking part in the Championship. I have great respect for what Katherine has done in the USA - she has definitely got the full attention of the boys! I’m sure she’ll be one of the drivers to beat.”
Legge competed in the CCWS companion Toyota Atlantic Series in 2005 scoring five podiums, including 3 wins and finished 3rd in the season Championship.
During this off season Legge was part of the final ever testing session for F1’s Minardi Team and Team Britain’s A1GP Team during that Series’ last stop in Dubai, in addition to her Mi-Jack Conquest Sebring CCWS test.
Rumors have been swirling for weeks Jimmy Vasser would be retiring from the PKV Racing seat and Legge was one of the possible candidates under consideration. As of mid-December PKV Racing co-owners Kevin Kalkhoven (Also CCWS co-owner) and Dan Pettit, had not reached a decision on the status of Vasser for next year, but
