Will Panther Racing “knock out the fat?”
This is a rather strange “marriage” and an even stranger time considering the Indy 500 is just 2 days away.
Panther Racing have announced that two-time heavyweight boxing champion George Foreman and his sons will become the team’s newest co-owners.
“This is a very special day for Panther Racing,” team owner John Barnes said. “To add a true professional and sports legend like George Foreman to our ownership group is a tremendous boost to our team.”
A strange marriage but hardly precedent setting. Ex-Chicago Bears and U of M quarterback Jim Harbaugh also owns a piece of Panther.
“I’ve been blessed throughout my life to partner with winning organizations,” said Foreman. “Now that I am part of Panther Racing, I am looking forward to being part of a winning team.”
Panther Racing is fielding cars for Vitor Meira, Kosuke Matsuura, and John Andretti in the Indianapolis 500.

At least you know the car’s grill will look good!!!
Hmmm I hope they are not desperate for funding & sinking. Remember that Cedric the Entertainer hook up in CCCWS. Some of these “partnerships” smell of desperation.
Casting the memory back further, nothing was funnier that Tom Walkinshaw’s Arrows taking on Prince Malik(?) of Nigeria. He did half a season, sat on the pit wall, strolled the paddock…………& didn’t come up with a red cent!!! LOL.
Geesh, “thanks” for reminding about the prince of Nigeria. As a fan I just recently got the taste of that A-Hole out of my system.
I can’t imagine what Walkinshaw went thru.
Oh I’m sure Tom could handle it,from what I hear - re Tom W - “it takes one toknow one”.
