Ya Had To See This One Coming

A presumably undereducated guy filling the role of a trained security guard meets highly paid sports star at a sports venue said star is participating at.

A scuffle over an alleged missing security pass ensues.

The security guard, a certain Archibald Hutchinson, files suit in the 11<sup.th Circuit Court seeking unspecified damages in excess of $15,000 in the suit filed Tuesday.

Reportedly four witnesses, all law enforcement officers, support the guards allegation Kahne pushed him and as a result Hutchinson fell to the ground.

Yeah OK, “Mr” Hutchinson, let the courts decide the legal penalty, but why the lawsuit? Has this been a life altering experience? Has you reputation been sullied to the point you can never again hold a security guard position?

None of the reports I’ve read mention you filing the legal papers while sitting on a wheelchair so the pain & suffering angle doesn’t seem to be in play.

“Mr” Hutchinson move on, get a life and drop the stupid lawsuit.

  1. Living a county that is addicted to civil litigation he probably figures $15k is a sum so small they will stump up the cash to get the story out of the press.

  2. The 15k is a minimum number everyone states when filing this kind of suit. The actual claim could end up in the millions, and settled for God only knows what amount.

  3. George - I noted in later stories that the caveat, “or more,” was added to the 15k figure.

A single buck is too much for my tastes.

Granted the guy WAS 65 years old and its POSSIBLE he was damaged in every way possible as alleged in the court filing it ranks as stinkin’ meat to me.

I wouldn’t expect every guard to know by instant recognition the 100 plus drivers on hand at Homestead that weekend. BUT I would expect them to recognize one of NASCAR’s biggest stars. That’s only compounded by Kahne being adorned in his driving suit.

The guys a cash grubbing clown and the suit should be tossed out at the first opportunity.

  4. I couldn’t agree more Marc, my point was to clarify Peter’s comment on the “small” amount of the suit.

You can’t break wind in public without some lawyer filing suit over someone “damaged”.

  5. And there are the people who like to perceive that Kahne is guilty until proven innocent. If Archie weighs at least 100 pounds more than Kahne, as has been reported, how could the cute little guy have enough strength to push the guy down with such force as to cause all the injuries he is claiming. I think he had lawsuit in mind from the get-go, and took a convincing dive, thinking it was Smoke he was confronting.
