You Couldn’t Find A More Appropriate Sponsor
With a NASCAR history that includes the early escapades of Junior Johnson “running ‘Shine” through the hills and valleys of the Carolinas it just seems right the appropriately named Catdaddy Carolina Moonshine comes on the scene this weekend.
And it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving fella.
Kirk Shelmerdine, the underdog story of the Daytona 500, hasn’t had much to talk about lately. But then he hasn’t had much to work with, either.Yesterday he announced a three-race sponsorship with a new distilled beverage company out of Madison. Catdaddy Carolina Moonshine will be on his quarterpanel here this weekend for Saturday’s Open, for next weekend’s 600, and for the October 500 here.
The company, Piedmont Distillers, runs out of Madison’s old train station. It bills its product as “the only legal moonshine made in the only legal distillery in the Carolinas.”
I want me some!!
This is not exactly the reward I had hoped Kirk would receive for his 20th place finish at Daytona but that was just a pipe dream. This is real and gets Kirk back on the track for at least 3 more events on ‘06.
Just a thought… wonder if ole Junior knows where the illegal stills are in the Carolinas today. Possible, old habits die hard. But so do memories of an 11 month stay in Chillicothe, Ohio’s Iron Bar Hotel.

Goodness. This reminds me of a wedding I attended last summer in Lansing, MI. We ended up drinking moonshine from a mason jar in the country club parking lot with the groom and his extended family. Ah, rednecks. Ah, memories.
Thanks Abi for the comment, however as per commenting rules around here the site you linked to has been deleated.
Sorry, no Google Juice allowed for your personal, but commercial site reviewing heat and serve dinners. You wanna pimp your mac & cheese do it elsewhere.
Marc, since you’re using Wordpress, don’t you have a NoFollow in your commenting? If you’re not sure what NoFollow means, a simple Google search will give you plenty of info.
What does the ‘personal, but commercial’ comment mean? The site isn’t commercial in any way. There are no ads, there’s no money being exchanged, and none of us are out for a book deal. HeatEatReview is a bunch of people who work in the same office and have fun reviewing lunches.
And of course Abi, you’re correct. Your site isn’t commercial. In my haste of attempting (and failing) ten things at once and manage the blog I didn’t spend enough time looking at the site to make an honest judgement.
If you should decide to comment further the url won’t be deleted Sorry!
NoFollow has many good things but also a long list of bad things attached to it. In my case I’ve never used it mainly because of Google’s political stance over it’s selections of what is featured on it’s Google news service. But that is a story for another place.
